Hi rappo,   the prog was in fact called just that: Marc bolan -the final word........seems it was a one of docu to celebrate 30 years anniversary of death... i rewatched it, couldnt see chris thompson in it, hope that its not a different one to the one terry heard about...........i taped onto plain video , but could make a dvd copy, the quality wouldnt be perfect though

Oggy, I've tried every link that I can get into from the BBC. Can't find anything about this show. Nothing under Chris Thompson either. I've found in the past that the BBC dosen't archive any footage until it's at least 3 months old.

I've got a stack of video of Marc Bolan and T Rex throughout thier recording days and clips from the 10 and 20 year rememberance concerts etc but as yet there's no full length vid online from last week.

However here's a short 90 second clip from the show that I found :--

Hi again rappo, thats the show i saw and recorded....i missed about 2 mins at the start...but couldnt see chris thompson on it..perhaps it was on another tribute prog....................there was one on itv i taped prior tp the bbc4 one, but only was on for 30 mins and never went much into his music etc, concentrated mostly of the drugs side of things.
I did tape the wembley 72 concert that followed the final word prog.
 Speak soon

Just a "cheeky" ad really. This Sunday, the 15th June, THE BLOX are playing at The Bridgehouse 2. We are a six piece tribute to Ian Dury and The Blockheads. It's going to be a great night.  Smiley

All the best

Tony

P.S. Not entirely cheeky as I used to frequent The Bridgehouse in it's heyday.... played there once too in another band.. on the newer stage in the bar down the few steps.

Hi there Terry... thanks for the message! And for your comment on our stuff on MySpace. Cheers.  Smiley

Mac, who "does" Ian Dury is actually from Dartford! And what you hear is his natural voice. So I reckon us Cockney boys have taken over a lot of Kent too!! Hehe...

We're at the Bridgehouse 2 tonight. Shame you cant get there this evening. Hopefully another time.

All the best  Grin

Tony

Just to let people know that the brilliant Dumpy's Rusty Nuts are playing at the new Bridge House on April 26th, so please go and see them!
Dumpy is a very old mate of mine and I'm gutted that I can't get there, but I'm already booked up to go to York that weekend.
Be there or be square!  Grin

If I lived closer and I didn't have other stuff to do that night I'd definitely go, Dumpy's Rusty Nuts are always entertaining Grin
