Thats funny Terry as I have never considered myself to be a musician. Im just someone who can sing naturally. I learned to play bass as I thought that was the easiest way to be able to write songs, as lyrics without music are nothing more than poems.
Years after the Corvettes split I was having a few beers with Jeff Wilmott (drums) in New York and I admitted that I never felt like a true muso as I was only the singer then and couldnt play an instrument. Jeff laughed and said that  he never felt like a muso as he just hid behind the drums, and he said that he could never stand at the front and just sing with nowhere to hide. He plays guitar now too!
I guess everyone is insecure about stuff, most people just dont admit it.
I still dont feel like a muso as I dont really understand what its all about. I just have a good ear. I cant read or write music, and when I work with Jeff (Ellis) he points things out to me about my songs and I havent got a clue what he is talking about!
I really need to get back round there but we are so busy with MissPrint its getting ridiculous.
Lots of new songs and no time to record them.
Shouldnt complain but there you go!

Im ashamed to admit that I dont know what Robin Trower has done Terry. I have heard of him but thats all.
My first guitar hero was Mick Ronson from the ziggy, Bowie era. Now im listening to a lot of Peter Green Fleetwood Mac stuff and the guitars are blowing me away.

well Lee its what i expect from you ,a really truefull answer,But it also means you have not read my book Bridge house canning town.or did you just read the new wave pages,,Robin Trower ,i gave a gig to his band the Paramounts in 1965,/6 at the Tarpots in Benfleet, they had a hit record and change there name to Procul Harem, remember white shade of Pale,,he was to leave  them, and went to The U.S.A were he still gigs and lives,
He came back to the Bridge in 1978,in a three piece with Jack Bruce,it was good to see him.
a Great guitarist,When he left Procul Harem he continued to play guitar on all there albums,,hope you are well.Regards Terry M

Hello Terry, I read the book from cover to cover. Cant remember it all! Think I have an album somewhere with Pandoras Box on it. Remember buying it when I was a kid. Was that by Procul Harem?

Sounds about right Steve. My aunt Dolly bought it for me and she lived in the flats that back onto the chicken run. She was always down Green St.

I know the one you mean Terry, but it wasn't that one, it was on the corner of Green St. and Selsdon road, and its main business was more a DIY  and kitchen stuff, the first poundshop almost.

I think it was 35p each or 4 for a pound, so I ended up with some odd stuff from there. One of them was by a band called Longdancer that had Matt Irvine on it, me & John put it on one night when Special Branch were playing and Matt threw a hissy fit, but about 4 songs in, it wasn't that bad actually, and had Dave Stewart later of the Eurythmics on it.

Lee are going to the New York Dolls on Friday?

Oggy ,Selmans does bring it back for me ,if you wanted to buy a record he would play at least half of the track,so me and Brother Mick would have a row over what to buy,so we ended up hearing about six tracks.
then we would walk out Arguing ,because we never had the 1.shilling and 10 pence to buy any anyway,
it was all Al Jolson in the late 40s,he was our hero,Regards T.M ,,,Mammy, you aint heard nothing yet?
