I remember going to the Crypt at the Greengate every week to see the Tickets and UK Subs.

Charlie would cut our hair in the dressing room before a gig.

The Crypt was a student bar in the basement of what was North East London Polytechnic, later to become the University of East London.

The building is still there but it has been empty for years.

Sorry to have been on the missing list for so long, new job taking over my entire life, I need to look into that!

I remember those gigs at the Crypt, it was where I first met Ken, John and Andy. If remember correctly The Tickets used to always headline at The Crypt and The Bridge and then there was a gig in West London where roles reversed, The Pegasus comes to mind, but I'm up for being corrected on this.

It was at The Crypt that Oggy's band hired a PA for one of these gigs that ended so covered in gob that they had to clean it all with Detol, God that was a revolting fashion.

I have tried to contact the bloke who is writing the Subs book but all my emails are returned. Anyone else tried and got through? I nearly joined the band as bass player a long, long time ago!
