Well I didn't hear anything out of what they recorded on Live at the Bridge. I wish I could watch one RDB show nowadays.  Hope in the future Bridgehouse Records put out some studio or live records of them. I would buy it certainly!

Yes Terry, I've read this part of book. They were ready to happen including the Live at the Marquee album that Johnatan King never released! Why it's still shelved over all these years I don't know...

Not sure if Terry was aware of this, but a couple of weeks back we had a couple come into the bar early on a Saturday afternoon.  They were telling me of a "Bridge House" pub in Italy.

Apparently a gut came over to the original venue many years ago and went back and started his own one back in Italia.

The Bridge House truly is an international brand name.

I just wonder if you knew back then what you had started Mr Murphy?

Were just so pleased to be part of that legend that will out live us all.

Rock On

We (That Legendary Woden Lion) played our second gig at the new BH last week. It's a great venue - small & intimate, just like a rock club should be. Yhe staff are great & friendly - we really enjoy it there.

I was with the original Wooden Lion when they played in the original BH i nthe mid 1970's and remember having Nick Pickett guesting with us on violin. He was a well renowned folk musician at the time - we were (and still are) a loud rock / electronics outfit. We're back at the BH2 on Saturday May 17th.

I'm currently reading Terry's book on the original BH2 - a great read reminding me of good memories seeing bands there & also playing there. Also good to read some things I didn't know.

Since those heady days I've become a social worker! I've always thought that people that worked in pubs display social worker skills, counselling, giving advice, peace making and being privvy to peoples private lives - after reading the book I'm more sure then ever.

Thanks to Terry plus all those at BH2.

Terry took me and Jeff Ellis down to the new (BH2) Bridge House the other day. We had some beers and lots of story telling with the new owners. It really is a great place to play and the kind of venue that you need to catch a new band when they are still small. It has a low ceiling and a low stage. Great for a good sound and not too far to fall as I did on a few occasions in the past! I wish them all the best and try to get down there and check it out for yourself.

Here's a photo of the above occasion.

In the picture are the two Tony's that run BH2 on either side of Terry and Lee on the far right.
Click on it to see it full size.

They are standing just in front of the low stage.
The lighting and sound are fantastic for such a small venue. It is well worth a visit.
The bar is open from 4pm with bands thursdays to sundays at the moment with the hope of building up to seven days a week.
