Thanks Steve Fisher and Oggy,so you are Terry Ogrady. thanks for the diaries dates just what we need,still trying to update all the diaries.Steve the plus with yours is The Lena Lovich gig with  the guvnors,In 1983 she was the best selling artist in the U.S.A.

I've got an autograghed copy of that single somewhere, I think she gave them to the bar staff when she played the gig. She lives up in Norfolk these days, she's good friends with a guy I made a TV series with a few years back.

I've just found the Bridge House website and memories came flooding back. I

 used to practically live in the place during the early and mid 70s, and you might say that the Bridge House has had a major influence on my life. Even used to call in there at lunchtime to see Glenn with my mate Adrian for a mini pizza and a few beers when we worked in Stephenson Street. My Dad was a mate of Johnny and Terry and still lives just down the road.

I live in mid Wales now, have done for nearly 20 years, and for ten years have helped organise and run twice monthly gigs at the Talbot Hotel in Tregaron. The inspiration for this? The Bridge House of course!

I always thought that the best place to see live music was in a small venue, and when the chance came up to get something organised up here, I remembered the wonderful nights I used to enjoy at the old place and thought 'why not here?' We've been doing it ever since. We even had Robbie McIntosh up here with Gordon Haskell a couple of years back and we had a great chat about the old days at the Bridge. Paul Young has also been here twice with his TexMex outfit Los Pacaminos.

It's not the only influence it has had on my life either. The live gigs at the Talbot has now led me into the record business and I'm now label manager in a new small indie - Red Kite Records. The Bridge House has had a lot to answer for!

Dennis Stratton and the boys from RDB were great mates and I haven't seen him for several years now, so I'd love to be kept informed of any future events and I'd do my best to get down for any future reunions.

Yes Eddie Dukelow use to  live, Furriers on corner at the Abbey arm,new him very well good fighter,great news you got a gig and record label going,Dave and Dennis would i believe be delighted to do a gig there,they have reformed R.D.B,or they also do a dave n dennis show saw them last sunday they were great Eagles laid back stuff,they are very resonoble ,if you are interested i will ask them for you,keep wel and intouch (do not want to lose this page so rushing) Give Pa my regards Terry Murphy

Hello Terry (and Oggie),

Glad you are all well and it's great to see that people don't forget the old place. Canning Town is a poorer place without it. There's not one decent pub in walking distance these days, and proper live music seems a thing of the past. Where do RDB (the full band) gig these days, I'd love to call in and see them?

My parents still live not far from the site - in Chargeable Lane - Dad's also called Ronnie by the way. I'll be seeing him tomorrow on a flying visit down to London and I'll say hello.

I see that Lol plays bass with them. Heard about hs brother Dennis - very sad. Used to see the Southside Blues Band and very good they were too. Still got a copy of their album Nectar on tape somewhere. What happened to little Tommy Dunn, the guitarist?

Hi everybody!
I used to work in a school in Newham back in 77-78 as a French assistant and I was once dragged down to the Bridge House by some of my students. There I saw the Warm Jets for the first time. I got quite impressed and when I went back a few years later I purchased the 'Sticky jack' EP (and I still have it). I remember great gigs at the House but at the time I was too shy and not confident enough with my english to chat with Gerry McAvoy or Chris Thompson at the bar. I would like to thank you so much for making this site and the forum.
(My students used to call me 'mophead' at the time!!! I would hardly clean anything with my hair by now!!!)
